Trusted Boat Repair in Daytona Beach, FL

Daytona Beach is known for the sand and the Speedway, but locals know the water is just as big a part of life here. The Halifax River runs right through town as part of the Intracoastal Waterway, and Ponce de Leon Inlet is about ten miles south, so you can fish the flats in the morning and be offshore by lunch.

Salt water is also the hardest thing a boat will ever deal with. It eats anodes, corrodes wiring, crusts up cooling passages and works its way into every fitting. Boats kept in a slip at Halifax Harbor or on a lift in Port Orange need a different kind of attention than a lake boat that lives on a trailer.

We are a family owned shop with more than 35 years in Florida marine repair. Our shop is in Mount Dora, and we schedule visits to the Daytona area so we can come to your slip, lift or driveway. You get a clear quote before any work starts.

Know Your Waterways

The Halifax River and Ponce Inlet

The Halifax River is a long, protected stretch of brackish water that runs from Ormond Beach down past Daytona, Port Orange and Daytona Beach Shores to Ponce Inlet. It is home to Halifax Harbor Marina, one of the biggest city marinas in the state with around 550 slips, plus a long list of private docks and smaller marinas.

Ponce Inlet is the gateway to the Atlantic, and it can be rough. Running the inlet puts a lot of stress on engines, steering and hardware, and the channel is known for shifting shoals. Add in salt spray, barnacles, and boats that sit in the water for weeks at a time, and you have a recipe for corrosion and surprise breakdowns.

That is why saltwater boats need regular flushing, anode checks and a close look at electrical connections. We know what to look for, and we catch it before it leaves you stuck at the dock.

Common Questions

Boat Repair Questions from Daytona Beach

What Daytona Beach and Halifax River boat owners ask us most. Have another question? Give us a call.

(352) 408-0929
Do you offer mobile boat repair in Daytona Beach?
Yes. We come to marinas, private docks and driveways around Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange and Ponce Inlet. Our shop is in Mount Dora, so we plan Daytona visits ahead of time. Call us and we will find a day that works.
How do I protect my outboard from salt water?
Flush the engine with fresh water after every trip, rinse the whole boat down, and keep an eye on your anodes. A corrosion protectant spray under the cowling helps too. Regular service catches the problems a rinse cannot, like worn impellers and corroded connections.
How often should anodes be replaced on a saltwater boat?
Check them every few months and replace them when they are about half worn away. Boats that stay in the water at a marina often go through anodes faster than boats on a trailer or lift.
My boat sat in the slip for weeks and now it will not start. What should I check?
The usual suspects are a drained battery, corroded battery terminals, or old fuel. Salt air speeds up corrosion on every connection. If the easy checks do not fix it, we can come out and track it down.
What outboard brands do you service in Daytona Beach?
We service Yamaha, Mercury, Honda, Suzuki and Tohatsu outboards, from small motors on flats boats up to twin and triple setups on center consoles.
Do you work on boats that run offshore through Ponce Inlet?
Yes. Offshore running is hard on engines, steering and hardware, and we work on center consoles and bay boats that make that run regularly. We can also help you set up a maintenance schedule that fits how often you go out.
